World Book Day

As part of our World Book Day celebrations, children had the opportunity to take part in a variety of the following activities.

Illustrator masterclass: The children had the opportunity to draw along with famous illustrator Nick Sharratt.

Create a front cover: Children were given the blurb to a new book and had to create a front cover for the book.

Drop Everything and Read: When the children heard the ‘Drop Everything and Read’     announcement on the tannoy, they had to stop what they were doing and read!

Story paper chains: Working in pairs or groups, one of the children had to write the first line of a story on their paper chain, the next child would add the next line to the story on another paper chain and join them together to create a story.

Origami Bookmarks: Children carefully followed some instructions to create funky origami monster book marks.

A variety of other activities took place during the day including the opportunity to watch a pantomime - Robin Hood and his Socially Distanced Men! The children had a fantastic day!
